What is the cloud?

The cloud is a large number of servers stored in a world-class data center that provides you access to your data from anywhere around the globe.

Why do I need a backup?

Aside from disasters, there are many reasons you want to backup your files. Computer crashes, virus infections, hard drive failure, physical damage, theft, and many more things can happen to your computer resulting in a loss of your data. Keeping your files backed up ensures that if/when one of these events happen, you will be able to recover your data.

Which backup option is best for me?

  • File-based backup - Ideal if you are only concerned about backing up specific types of files on your computer such as Documents, Pictures, etc.
  • Image-based backup - Ideal if you want to backup your entire computer into the cloud. If you have a problem with your computer we can restore it back to the latest backup from the cloud and get you back up and running fast.

How much storage do I need?

The amount of storage you need varies depending on the amount of data you currently have and the rate of change of those files. We recommend at least three (3) times the amount of data you currently have to allow room for growth and redundancy.

Why do I need a local storage drive if my data is in the cloud?

If you are on our image-based backup plan, a local storage drive is required to provide local access to your data. These backups are then transmitted securely to our cloud each night. In the event you need to restore your data, the fastest option will be to use the local backup. If this is not available we will pull your information from the cloud. This provides redundancy to your backups while giving you multiple options to recover your data.

How do I get my files back?

  • File-based backup - The small software backup program we install on your computer provides direct access to the backup files so you can restore them at any time. If you replace your computer we can install the software on the new computer and download your files from the cloud onto the new computer.
  • Image-based backup - We will assist with restoring individual files or your entire computer/server. If the entire computer/server requires restoration, a one-time fee of $100 (shipping fee inclusive) will be billed to you for delivering the drive from the data center to our office.
